Comment(s):

A one-page flashback to an earlier case of Chaz and Andi is seen in this story. It is shown as the title page of an actual story with the title "The Nemesis of My Nemesis is My... Nemesis!" and has a cast lineup shown in the border listing Mister Terrific as White King, Amanda Waller as White Queen, Nemesis as White Queen's Bishop, Count Vertigo as White King's Knight, and Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Tiger as Agents of Spyral, Supergirl as on standby and Kate Kane as Director of Spyral. The Checkmate positions as shown here indicate that part of the characters' pre-New 52 history has become canon again. Count Vertigo looks quite different in New 52 continuity so it is unsure whether or not this is supposed to be the same character. Also, a mistake is made in referring to Kate Kane as Director of Spyral. It was not Kate Kane who was director of Spyral but rather her aunt Kathy Kane, the original Batwoman.

Solicitation:

One by one they fall: A.R.G.U.S.! The D.E.O.! The Kobra Cult! And now, Spyral! Clark Kent and Lois Lane go undercover to find out who is behind all of the attacks on the top-secret and underground organizations of the DC Universe! Is it the rise of a new power in the DCU called Leviathan? Named one of the best comics of the year by Paste magazine!
