HISTORY
Laurel Gand is a native of the planet Daxam in the 31st century, a descendant of the legendary hero Lar Gand. Laurel grew up in a village run by the racist White Triangle until drafted by her government to join the Legion of Super-Heroes as Andromeda. At first, she had a hard time working with 'lesser' races, but after a battle with the White Triangle, her attitude changed. Witnessing the genocides committed by Roxxas, she was struck with an enormous guilt. Finding comfort in religion, Laurel joined the order called the Sisters of the Eternal Cosmos as Sister Andromeda.
She has not been active in the Legion since then and was last seen living on the planet Durla. Under a yellow sun, Laurel has the Daxamite abilities of superstrength, speed, flight, invulnerability, and laser-vision, all on Superman-level. On top of her innate powers, Andromeda also gained energy-manipulating powers from a strange space anomaly, the exact nature of which is not clear. She is vulnerable to lead, a substance poisonous to all Daxamites.
