HISTORY

Although a member of the elite Green Lantern Corps Honor Guard, Apros of -7Pi's exploits have yet to be told. In the company of K'ryssma of Etrea and Tomar-Re of Xudar, they were chosen by the Guardians of the Universe as three of the most revered Green Lanterns of their time. Most likely, Apros spent time as a recruiter and trainer of new Green Lanterns.

- Tales of the Green Lantern Corps #1

Apros was instrumental in the war with Nekron, Lord of the Unliving and his ally, the renegade Guardian, Krona. He led one third of the Green Lantern Corps in the search for Krona. Although victory was achieved by Hal Jordan of Earth, Jordan turned down the Crimson Cloak of Command, a position equal or possibly greater to that of Honor Guard. - Tales of the Green Lantern Corps #3

Some time afterwards, Hal Jordan was disciplined by the Guardians for disobeying orders. He was exiled from Earth for one year. After Jordan's period of atonement had passed, Apros joined in the celebration when the Green Lantern of Earth's exile from his homeworld was lifted.

Apros served faithfully during the so-called Crisis on Infinite Earths. On Oa, he and K'ryssma protected the Guardians from sciencell escapees and other intruders. Hal Jordan was apprehended by the Honor Guard, who considered him a traitor to the Corps for resigning. Jordan was returned to Earth by the Guardians. He would later receive a power ring from a dissenting Guardian. Tomar-Re was killed fighting Goldface in the Anti-matter Universe.

After the Guardians' departure from our universe, Apros and K'ryssma were assigned to Maltus as protection for Appa Ali Apsa, and trainers of Guy Gardner. Green Lantern Vol. 2 #200

The two surviving Honor Guard members stopped one escape attempt by Gardner, and later, pursued the errant Green Lantern to Earth. Subduing Gardner, they were prepared to take his power ring from him when they were stopped by Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps of Earth. The Earth based Green Lanterns offered to take Gardner as their responsibility. They felt he would eventually need to learn how to fit into society and was better off learning on his homeworld. Satisfied with this offer, Appa Ali Apsa returned to Maltus with the Honor Guard.

They were next on Oa for the trial of Sinestro, the renegade Green Lantern. The resulting implosion of the Main Power Battery following Sinestro's execution absorbed the power rings of all the Green Lanterns present, save Hal Jordan.

Appa Ali Apsa regained all of his Guardian powers, and decided to remain on Oa. K'ryssma had returned to a chrysalis state, to be revived years later. Apros was presumably relieved of his duties by the Guardian, and returned to his homeworld. - Green Lantern Corps #224

Following the rise and fall of the new Green Lantern Corps, Apros was abducted by an interstellar slave ring. Surprisingly, his incredible psionic powers were neutralized while in captivity. He was freed by Guy Gardner along with scores of other powerless Green Lanterns. Most likely, Apros and K'ryssma were reunited aboard a Darkstar cruiser.

While K'ryssma went on to join the Darkstars, and ultimately perish in battle with Grayven and his forces, Apros' adventures have not been recorded.

When the Green Lantern Corps was restored, Apros and other surviving veterans rejoined. Apros was later part of the Corps' massive standoff against Superboy-Prime. - Infinite Crisis #7

GLCWP NOTE

A character that looked like Apros appeared in FIVE STAR SUPER-HERO SPECTACULAR # 1 (1977), with art by Joe Staton. Apros' "speech" was in thought balloons, apparently projected to those he wished to communicate with. It was untranslated. Although I refer to Apros as a "he", the actual gender of Apros may have little significance in human terms.

Apros appeared in the 2011 Green Lantern movie.
