HISTORY

In the late 1970s, Astra Logue was the daughter of the infamous 'sex and drugs magician' Alex Logue, owner of the Casanova Club in Newcastle. Alex had let his friends sexually abuse Astra, and in defense and horror, she had summoned the hellhound Norfulthing who brutally ripped her father and the rest of the rapists to shreds. In 1978, John Constantine and his 'magic gang' arrived in Newcastle to exorcise Norfulthing. Fighting fire with fire, Constantine summoned the demon Nergal (I) to combat the hellhound, and it resulted in disaster. Astra was accidentally sent to Hell and John himself spent the next two years in the Ravenscar mental asylum, never getting rid of the horrific memories of what was to be remembered as the 'Newcastle Incident'.

Only decades later, on a visit to Hell, John was able to save the soul of Astra from damnation by outwitting the demon Buer, infernal guardian of damned children.
