Synopsis:

Batman hits the streets in his guise as Matches Malone, determined to find out things out which he may otherwise have found difficult. The talk on the streets all leads him to the conclusion that he needs to find Diego Escabedo, who could be behind the various power plays between the gangs. Meanwhile, Catwoman tells Spoiler that Batman and Matches Malone are one and the same, so her plan never had a chance of succeeding. Catwoman leaves Spoiler in the care of Holly and Karon, and heads off to tell Leslie Thompkins of the reason for the gang fighting, in the hope that she can pass this information on to Batman. Oracle reunites Robin with Batman, but Batman's welcome is not exactly enthusiastic. Later, James Gordon tells Batman that his actions regarding the police force have been out of order, while elsewhere, Diego Escabedo is being tortured by a mysterious figure.
