This story spans several eras of the Batman. The first chapter takes place during Dick Grayson's time as Robin, the second chapter takes place in the present with Dick Grayson as Batman and Daimian Wayne as Robin, the third chapter takes place sometime in the future first seen in Batman Vol. 1 #666 where Damian Wayne is Batman and also features a young Terry McGinnis, the fourth chapter takes place at various points in the future, starting with Terry McGinnis as Batman fighting the Jokerz, an undisclosed version of Batman an Robin fighting a robot army called the Iron Heel of Fura, the Brane Taylor Batman of the 31st century, and Batman and Robin, the Toy Wonder of DC One Million in the in the 853rd Century.

The proper chronological placement of these stories has not yet been determined, except it is assumed that Carter Nichols' appearance takes place sometime between World's Finest Comics #138 and Brave and the Bold #171.
