HISTORY

A former Guardian of the Universe, Dawlakispokpok was an artist that had fabricated an origin story preventing anyone from seeing the true beginnings of the Maltusian race. An enemy of the Guardians wishing to strike at them might decide to travel back in time when the Guardians were less powerful. Using a time viewer to look back at the Guardians' history, an enemy would try to choose the point of their greatest weakness. The further back an enemy looked in the story the more powerful the Guardians would become until the viewer would witness creation and behold the Guardians as the very progenitors of the universe itself.

Dawlakispokpok believed the origin story was the pinnacle of his art but also his greatest crime. If the origin story did not exist as a permanent barrier against research into the past, the ancient Maltusian scientist Krona would not have felt driven to probe the origin of the universe some four billion years ago. Krona had somehow linked the beginning and end of time, unleashing entropy into the universe and destroying approximately one billion years of potential life.

Over a century ago, Dawlakispokpok left his Oan brothers to unite with his Zamaron mate, Thwarcharchura. The pair were married, presumably on their homeworld of Maltus, and had two children, a son, Doranchatok and a daughter, Darthartheen. Together they built a time platform to rewrite history. They would prevent Krona from linking the universal extremes by killing him. The time platform would punch Krona through the warp he created into the last moments of the universe. Consumed by entropy, there would be no way for Krona to duplicate his crime.

Darthartheen and Doranchatok were given power rings by their parents which focused their Oan/Zamaron powers. Though Dawlakispokpok had hoped he could complete his task without violence he ceded to the wishes of his children. Darthartheen and Doranchatok were sent to attack a trio approaching the time platform.

Ganthet, a Guardian, had probed the origin story but had used the hot opaque universe five hundred thousand years after creation as a mirror to see what had occurred afterwards. He understood Dawlakispokpok was trying to somehow repeat what Krona had done. To help him stop Dawlakispokpok, Ganthet enlisted the help of Hal Jordan, Green Lantern of Earth in Space Sector 2814. They were joined by Percival, a member of a Maltusian colony that had settled on Earth billions of years earlier. Ganthet had given Percival a power ring and some rudimentary training in Percival's Maltusian heritage.

Jordan was unable to defeat the children of Dawlakispokpok and Thwarcharchura as they were more experienced ring wielders. Following a theory of Ganthet's, Jordan fled the battle, much to the surprise of the Oan/Zamaron children. Darthartheen obliterated Percival's elaborate ring construct and both siblings turned their attention to Ganthet.

About one light minute away, Jordan ordered his ring to seek out Doranchatok. The emerald light from Jordan's ring was red-shifted on the electromagnetic spectrum, moving the color green up a notch to yellow. Doranchatok was struck full force with the beam of light, vaporizing his power ring.

Ganthet found the son of Dawlakispokpok was still capable of defending himself. The ring was only a focus, Doranchatok had the power inside himself. Darthartheen had caught Jordan by surprise but could not find the body of Percival. They returned to their parents with their two prisoners.

Darthartheen searched the asteroid field for Percival's remains in the hope of finding viable tissue from which to clone him. Percival had indeed survived and was attempting to free his friends when Doranchatok entered the battle. Percival was able to sue the young man's overconfidence to his advantage. Percival created a fortress which Doranchatok sought to hurl himself through, only to find Percival had made the walls intangible. Doranchatok flew through, unable to stop as he smashed through his father's time platform.

Dawlakispokpok tried to repair the damage as entropy spilled through the aperture. He was caught in the entropy wave and killed. Thwarcharchura survived but was greatly aged, as was Hal Jordan. Doranchatok returned to Thwarcharchura's side to give her some of his power, returning her youthful appearance. Thwarcharchura was horrified to discover Krona had not been responsible for the introduction of entropy into the universe. It had been their actions trying to prevent his crime that caused the disastrous consequences. Thwarcharchura and Doranchatok surrendered peacefully to Ganthet who had restored Hal Jordan's youth.

On Oa, the Guardian council ordered Thwarcharchura and Doranchatok would stand before a joined court of Oan and Zamaron justices. The decision of this court has not yet been revealed.

Darthartheen returned to the ruins of the time platform and tried to retrieve her father's remains for burial on Oa. The entropy field surrounding his bones stripped the flesh from her left hand. It was too strong for a Guardian's green light or sapphire magic. Darthartheen departed, carrying her scar and vowing revenge.

Thwarcharchura, Doranchatok and Darthartheen have not been heard from since.
