Synopsis: - Batman interrogates the Joker for the truth about Paul Sloan. It transpires that once the group of villains had hired him to take Two-Face's place, Sloan became obsessed with the role and thought of himself as the genuine article. The Joker realized their plan would not work, so he tipped the police off about a job Sloan was to pull as Two-Face, leading to Sloan's only encounter with Batman, an encounter Batman sensed was somehow 'wrong'. After this, Sloan was kidnapped and tortured by the genuine Two-Face for two days, before being dumped at the others villains' meeting place. Assuming he was dead, the body was left with Scarecrow to dump, but the master of fear must have known he was alive and kept him alive for some twisted purpose.
- The Joker then reveals that he learnt about the torture from Sloan himself, just the other night, when he asked the clown prince of crime to delay Batman for as long as possible. Batman races back to Arkham, but by now Two-Face has escaped, seemingly with the help of Harvey Dent.
