Synopsis:

Batman is on the hunt for the Joker, who he has associated with over 114 murders. He identifies a location through a phone number used by several of the Joker's recent victims (known associates). Meanwhile, a nude Joker fights a man who is wearing a mask made out of human skin. The Joker cuts the man's throat and stabs him multiple times. Batman arrives too late, and utilizes a remote-controlled batarang called a Ro-Bat to monitor Joker. He tries to apprehend the criminal, who uses an explosive to escape, sending the building into flames. Batman prepares to go after him, but is distracted by a young girl begging for help. The Gotham City Police Department arrive on the scene and on Mayor Sebastian Hady's orders, they attempt to stop Batman with deadly force. Batman is fights them briefly, until James Gordon arrives and commands his officers to tend to the girl, giving Batman a chance to flee.

Bruce makes it back to the Batcave where he meets Alfred Pennyworth. While Bruce is focused on his encounter with Joker, Alfred informs him that he missed a date with a young reporter by the name of Charlotte Rivers. Bruce tells Alfred to send his apologies, as his night isn’t finished.

Later, Batman answers the Bat-Signal at Gotham City Police Department, where Gordon mentions that the recent murders are hurting the mayor politically, and that the mayor has ordered Batman's capture. Gordon informs him that the rescued girl mentioned that Joker is hiding at Roscoe's Pharmacy, Uptown, Gotham. The police arrive before Batman and several are killed by a trap dummy triggered to explode. Batman notices Joker walking away, and confronts him on a subway. The Joker weakens him with toxic gas, and stabs him twice. But Batman throws him off a building, capturing him. Joker is delivered to Arkham Asylum, where Jeremiah Arkham attends to him. After Joker is left alone, Dollmaker enters the room - all according to Joker's plan. The Dollmaker cuts the skin off the Joker's face.
