Comment(s):

Story continues from JLA #119, Day of Vengeance #6, OMAC Project #6, Rann-Thanagar War #6, Villains United #6 and DC Special: The Return of Donna Troy #4.
Despite appearances, the scenes in this issue do not happen at the same time and are shown out of correct chronological order. This becomes evident when placing the tie-ins in the right order. For instance, Batman appears in JLA #121-124 in between the scene in the remains of the JLA headquarters (which runs throughout the book) and the destruction of the Rock of Eternity (seen on page 13). Donna Troy's recruitment of Starfire in Outsiders Vol. 3 #32 takes place not long after the destruction of the Rock of Eternity, which was seen at the end of Outsiders Vol. 3 #29. As a result, Donna and Starfire's meeting with Nightwing (seen on pages 6-9) must take place after that event. A possible explanation for the ordering of the scenes in this issue could be that all these events are seen by Alexander Luthor, Jr., Superman of Earth-2 and Superboy of Earth-Prime through the crystals in their otherworldly prison which allows then to see the past and present of the DC Multiverse.
The right order of the sequences in this issue is as follows. First Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman meet at the remains of the Watchtower while the Freedom Fighters are killed in Washington. Then a couple of days later the Rock of Eternity is destroyed and not long after that the Donna Troy and Starfire say goodbye to Nightwing in Blüdhaven.

Solicitation:

Welcome to the dawn of the DC Universe's darkest day in this best-selling story by writer Geoff Johns (BLACKEST NIGHT)! The world's greatest heroes stand divided. If recent events don't tear them apart, the heroes may fall at the hands of an enemy from the past long since thought gone!
