HISTORY

Brought together first when the whole world experienced a collective dream and then by the threat of Starro the Conqueror, the worlds foremost super-heroes banded together to forge a powerful force against evil, based in a high-tech headquarters on the moon. Aquaman, Batman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Superman and Wonder Woman created the most powerful and respected League yet, initially only recruiting three more members: Aztek, Tomorrow Woman and Green Arrow.

Later, warned to prepare for the fortification of Earth, the team expanded in size, recruiting Plastic Man, Steel, Orion, Big Barda, the Huntress and Zauriel, with Oracle and the Atom assisting in an advisory capacity. Hourman was also briefly allied with the League. When the crisis - the coming of Mageddon - had passed, with Aztek sacrificing his life, the League's numbers reduced to that of the original membership plus Plastic Man, with Oracle, Steel and the Atom as reserves. The team continued to fight evil on a cosmic scale, also battling internal conflicts sparked by Batman's contingency plans in case of his friends going rogue. When they disappeared into the past to rescue Aquaman and Atlantis, a temporary League consisting of Nightwing, Green Arrow, Jason Blood, Faith, Firestorm, Atom, Hawkgirl and Major Disaster was put in place until the other heroes could be rescued. The League then continued as a fusion of these two teams.
