Peppy, the League's shape-changing new acquaintance, has disappeared. He plans to help mankind with its seeming goal - self-destruction - a goal he hastens along by bringing a number of asteroids into a collision course with Earth. Green Lantern and Superman deflect the asteroids, while Wonder Woman and the Flash bring Peppy back to the Watchtower. He explains that he is confused, nothing is as it should be according to his sacred text, the Book of Lol. He says he wishes to seek out a new life elsewhere, but as he leaves, his ship self-destructs. He was the last of his kind, and he couldn't bear being alone without the guidance of the Book of Lol.
