Synopsis:

On Blackhawk Island, Kobra carries out his threat to murder Sand, the leader of the new JSA and to initiate the destructive satellite aimed at New York. However, as he discovers, the Sand he murdered was a hard-light hologram created by one of Mister Terrific's T-Spheres, and the latter hero, along with Doctor Mid-Nite, release Air-Wave from Kobra's imprisonment. As Air-Wave beams himself into the satellite array, ending Kobra's campaign of chaos and destruction, the villain escapes. However, as Kobra attempts to escape by air, he is apprehended by Atom Smasher, pushing his growth ability to its utmost limits in order to capture his mother's murderer. Starman is able to talk him out of actually killing Kobra and the group escapes the self-destructing island by way of the Blackhawk Express airplane.

Back at HQ, the team confront the D.E.O. Director, having discovered that the government now own the Blackhawks, but are interrupted by the crash-landing of Hourman's time-ship, containing only one occupant - Metron. He informs the team that Hourman and the rest of the JSA have perished and that they must accompany him to prevent the complete destruction of the universe.
