Synopsis:

The tide begins to turn in the JSA's favor: Black Adam and Atom Smasher's fight lasts for so long that they are able to overcome the aggressors pumped into them, but they then have to face the Warhound of Apokolips; Doctor Mid-Nite and Mister Terrific force themselves into a stalemate so that their game of chess is reset and they are able to take advantage of this moment of weakness to break their bonds; and Sand releases Hawkgirl so that she can deliver the antidote to Hawkman while he remains in silicate form, immune to his poison.

The Warhound's rampage is only brought to a stop by Roulette, who is able to bring it to heel. Meanwhile, the JSA begin to gather together, Black Adam and Atom Smasher finding a new respect for one another. They discover that Sand is weakened even in his silicate state and they must escape rather than avenge the numerous fallen heroes whose names they've seen on the walls. Roulette is angry that they've spoiled her day and sends them back instantaneously, much to their confusion.

In Nevada, Roulette plans to rebuild, to find the new Mister Terrific and kill him, in honor of her grandfather's memory. Her grandfather being Terry Sloane, the original Mister Terrific...
