OVERVIEW

The original Justice League of America was created by Amanda Waller to fight against the Justice League if they went against the United States. The next version of the JLA was created by Batman to be a team that was more down to earth than the godlike Justice League.

HISTORY

Creation

The original Justice League of America was created by Amanda Waller and led by Steve Trevor to fight against the Justice League if they ever went against the United States. The original members - Catwoman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern (Simon Baz), Hawkman, Katana, Martian Manhunter, Stargirl and Vibe - did not know this however when they joined.

Trinity War

After Superman accidentally killed JLA member Doctor Light, the team was sent in to stop Superman and eventually began a fight with the Justice League. This started the Trinity War, which was prophesied by Madame Xanadu and most notably, Pandora. What made it the "Trinity" War is because the Justice League Dark joined in on the fight. While all three Justice League's were chasing after Pandora's box, so was The Outsider who was revealed to be Alfred Pennyworth of Earth-3. He finally opened the box to his universe, bringing the Crime Syndicate (Earth 3 - New 52 Multiverse) to Earth-0.

Forever Evil

After the Crime Syndicate came to Earth-0, they trapped the JLA and the Justice League in the Firestorm Matrix, an energy field binding Ronnie Raymond and Jason Rusch together to create Firestorm. Stargirl and Martian Manhunter found out about this and luckily Stargirl escaped. The real world was worse than the fake one created inside the Firestorm Matrix however. It was ruled by villains, and the only help Stargirl had was Martian Manhunter guiding her through this new land of horrors. The JLA eventually escaped the Firestorm Matrix before it became too unstable and explode. They then disbanded and a new JLA was born.

The New Unofficial Justice League of America

Later on, the original Justice League members, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Cyborg became an unofficial JLA to fight Rao, the God of Krypton. They were never really called the Justice League of America, but just mainly went back as the Justice League.

Justice League of America: Rebirth

After the Justice League fought the Suicide Squad, Batman created a new team of heroes. His first recruit was Killer Frost, who he saw hope in. He knew she could be a hero if she tried, so he invited her in as she left Belle Reve. He also recruited Lobo, mainly to keep him in check, but thinking some good could come from him. He also invited Vixen, Black Canary and the Ray. Before that could happen, he went to Ivy University in New England to find Ray Palmer, the original Atom. Instead he found Ryan Choi, and he was convinced to let him join.
