Synopsis:

Batman and Martian Manhunter meet aboard the JLA satellites to discuss the situation concerning the extremists who have turned much of Earth's population into gorillas. They both think they know who is behind it. Batman gathers the rest of the League while J'onn tracks down some of their suspect's possible simian acquaintances. The president of the USA (now a gorilla himself) decides to launch a nuclear strike against Gorilla City, which the League must avert: Superman by destroying the missiles, and the rest (assisted by Grogamesh) by evacuating the gorillas, just in case he fails.
By this time, J'onn has all the information he needs about the suspect, but when he arrives in Gorilla City, the suspect - Grodd - tells him it's too late. He can draw mental strength from the apes across the world and will soon be unstoppable. Martian Manhunter then bows before him and congratulates him for having the courage to ascend to a mental plane in this way. Grodd fears giving up his physical rule and panics - his brain shuts down. Ulgo is then free to restore order to Gorilla City while the JLA work to reverse the process which transformed so many into apes. Grodd, meanwhile, is imprisoned in Gorilla City's Abruuk Asylum.
