HISTORY

The formation of the planet Oa was said to have occurred relatively soon after the dawn of time, approximately fifteen billion years ago. Legend has it that Oa was the center of the universe. Currently there is no scientific evidence to prove or disprove this.

The exact location of Oa is (arguably) a secret. There are alternating reports of the planet being inside the core of a spiral galaxy, possibly the Milky Way, surrounded by a sky full of stars or on the very edge of a galaxy's spiral arm.

HISTORY: UNIVERSE-247

In the universe containing Earth-247, the planet Oa had not been restored after its destruction in the 20th/21st Century. Instead, a Xudarian criminal, Tomar-Ro had constructed a siphon to tap the ambient energy left in the area of space once occupied by the planet Oa. The siphon was housed in a cloaked space station dubbed Oa-Two and energized his own band of criminals, the Green Lantern Corps of the 30th Century. Oa-Two was ultimately destroyed by Green Lantern Kyle Rayner. - Green Lantern Vol. 3 #97 - 99
