HISTORY

The Ogre was once a normal human who went through a series of experiments in a rogue scientific project in Gotham City that attempted to bridge the gap between apes and humans. The man was painfully devolved while another subject, an ape, was enhanced. Because he thought he had been turned into a monster, the man referred to himself as an Ogre. The Ogre and the Ape escaped together, then hunted down their tormentors and killed them so they would never do such things to any living creature again. Batman finally stopped them and managed to save their last victim. However, this scientist shot the Ape dead. Batman persuaded the Ogre into not seeking revenge, and the Ogre left with the Ape's corpse before the police arrived. He has not been seen since.
