HISTORY

The sixth man to bear the name Starman, and the one with, seemingly, the shortest heroic career. The son of the original Starman, David Knight was more than happy to take over from his father when he was seemingly lost forever. To that end, he studied in Europe, physically training and practicing with the Cosmic Rod. He was befriended by an older man, Andy Murphy, who turned out to be his father's enemy, The Mist. After being rescued by the fifth Starman, he decided to put up the Rod until encouraged again by his returned and retired father.

Just a week after he began operating as Starman, he was shot by an enemy of the family and killed. However, in the instant between the bullet hitting and his death, he was sent back in time and carved a legend for himself as the mysterious Starman II of 1951, taking up the identity after Doctor Mid-Nite I (Charles McNider). After his death he made yearly visits to his brother Jack to encourage and advise him.

David recently returned briefly as a Black Lantern.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

David was not a great scientific mind like his father, and worked hard to understand the principles behind the Cosmic Rod. He was a fair hand-to-hand fighter and was adept at using the Cosmic Rod.
