- M'ntorr explains that when Gavyn died during Crisis on Infinite Earths his essence flung itself through the cosmos and eventually took control of Will Payton's body and transformed him into Starman and that Payton had died in the process. Whether or not this is the truth or if it was M'ntorr that implanted Gavyn's thoughts and memories into Payton has yet to be revealed.
