Synopsis:

Lieutenant Candy drives Colonel Stephen Trevor to a US Air Force base at midnight. There, he is assigned to fly a mission by General Kohler, who is working for Ares.

Diana, in full battle armor, waits pensively in front of the statue of Artemis on Paradise Island. She is waiting for her mission to be revealed. Watching her are Hippolyta, Philippus and Menalippe.

Artemis and her fellow goddesses are impatiently waiting as Hephaestus beats one of the two girdles of Gaea into a lasso of truth, which Artemis transports to Diana. Hermes follows it down and takes Diana's hand. They both vanish in a flash of light, leaving a worried Hippolyta.

Steve Trevor's plane is lost, flying through a thunderstorm. The navigation goes out and the plane hits turbulence. It drops into a spin, but Steve manages to pull the plane out of it.

Diana and Hermes fly above Areopagus, the home of Ares, which has been decimated by his presence. Hermes tells Diana that Ares is not there, but is hiding in Man's World. Diana enters alone and meets a bandaged woman in rags. This woman is Harmonia, daughter of Ares and Aphrodite. She presents Diana with an amulet which is only visible from one side. Hermes calls to Diana, telling her that her home is in danger.

At Paradise Island, the Amazons are called to arms. Overhead, Steve's plane flies out of the storm. Steve's co-pilot, Captain Stark, who is also working for Ares, start to strangle him, telling him that his skill was needed to pilot the plane through Athena's clouds and now he will be responsible for the death of all the Amazons. While fighting, Slade sees Diana flying towards the plane and drops the bomb they are carrying. Diana catches it with the lasso and throws it into the air, where it explodes harmlessly. Steve struggles with Captain Stark, causing the plane to crash into the sea. Diana follows it into the water, where Themis guides her away from Slade's body and towards Steve Trevor.

At the US Air Force base, Lieutenant Candy has informed General Hillary of what transpired during the night. They seek an explanation for the midnight mission, only to find that, like Slade, the spirit of Ares has consumed General Kohler.

At Paradise Island, Steve is being cared for despite Philippus' objections. Athena appears and tells Diana that to defeat Ares she must find the other half of the amulet. Diana says farewell to her sisters and is transported by Hermes to Man's World.

At the Air Force base, Steve's closest friend Colonel Michaelis is questioned about Steve's meeting with Kohler. In the spirit world, Phobos and Deimos watch these events unfold.
