Comment(s):

This, of course, is not the first meeting of Wonder Woman and the heroes seen in this story. Due to the effects of the Infinite Crisis, Wonder Woman was a founding member of the Justice League of America. Her "debut" is her return from a period of inactivity not yet mentioned.

Synopsis:

In Julia Kapatelis' personal journal the professor describes Diana's appearance before the United nations General Assembly and Diana's reaction to Earth's other super-heroes whom she met during G. Gordon Godfrey's campaign against Super-Heroes. She tells how the issue became as controversial and divisive as the Red Scare of the 50's. Diana learns what it means to lose a loved one when her and Julia meet the wife of the late Colonel Matthew Michaelis.
Lt. Etta Candy writes in a letter to Colonel Steve Trevor about Diana's tests with the military. Etta explains how Diana won the begrudging respect of the military. Diana adamantly refused to allow the testers to examine her bracelets and lasso. The whole affair unnerved the princess. Etta expressed her respect and admiration for Diana.
In her diary, 13 year old Vanessa Kapatelis writes about how her feelings toward Diana changed from jealousy to love once she got to know the Amazon Princess. She tells about Diana's visit to her school.
In a letter to Julia Kapatelis, Myndi Mayers details the success of her promotion of Wonder Woman. Her promotion included merchandise licensing, speaking tours, comic books, and media appearances. She even arranged for Diana to meet President Reagan. After receiving a letter form Barbara Minerva, Myndi arranges a meeting with the shady archeologist. Myndi tells Julia that the "pagan" aspects of the mythic Greek philosophy Diana expounds has got Christian and Judaic leaders clamoring for a roundtable discussion with the Amazon Princess.
Barbara Minerva comes to Boston to trick Wonder Woman into giving her the golden lasso. As the Cheetah she viciously kills her contact.
