Synopsis: - Lex Luthor, in conjunction with other world leaders, has announced a program to develop an array of anti-invasion weapons to orbit the Earth and protect against alien attack. Perry White gets wind that he has authorized a temeryl mining operation, which is highly illegal in the United States, since temeryl is a powerful explosive which doesn't require the presence of oxygen to burn. Clark Kent infiltrates the operation and learns a little of it, also saving some of the workers when there is an explosion on site. He also comforts a newly-orphaned boy in Guatemala, who had thought that Superman would have been able to save his mother.
