OVERVIEW

Located within Space Sector 1, Astonia is primarily known as the home world of Bro'Dee Walker, best known as Saint Walker, the first member of the Blue Lantern Corps.

HISTORY

Astonia was a dying world, its ancient sun expanding into a red giant, burning the planet. The native population had not developed space flight and there was no evidence of advanced technology that could be utilized to save the world or escape. The populace gave into despair and descended into chaos, though Bro'Dee Walker had not given up hope.

Walker led his family up the treacherous slopes of Mount Helious to find the prophesized Messiah, though they were lost in the journey. Upon reaching the summit, Walker thought the sacrifices were in vain as no messiah had appeared before him. His own reflection made him realize he was to be the salvation for his people.

The profound faith summoned the first Blue Lantern power ring which harnessed this hope and renewed Astonia's sun, changing from dying red to vibrant blue. Astonia was saved and the universe saw the first of the Blue Lantern Corps.
