HISTORY

Billions of years ago, five members of a thieves' guild raided Maltus in a daring heist. Blooch and his accomplices had targeted the Guardians of the Universe. The relentless Manhunters descended upon them and one of their members, Chattle, was captured by the robotic sentries. The remaining four thieves managed to escape the planet with their stolen treasures. Hidden within their haul was a map that promised an even greater prize, legendary treasure on the planet Okaara.

Flob was taken in the Okaaran Forest of Weeds while Blooch, Larfleeze and Turpa fell through the jungle floor. Deep within an ancient temple, a voice from an orange power battery called them. The three grasped the battery, each claiming as his own while the Manhunters and the Guardians sought their capture.

Wild energy from the orange battery tore at Manhunters and Guardians alike. Turpa was killed in one of the blasts. Realizing further struggle was no use, the Guardians backed down. They were not interested in the battery, just one of the relics taken on Maltus. They made a pact, the orange light could remain on Okaara under one condition; only one would be allowed to keep the battery. Blooch would lose the battery and his life.

Blooch would "live" for billions of years as one of the constructs of the Orange Lantern Corps.
