HISTORY

Calor is a terrestrial planet located within Space Sector 2814. It is historically significant as one of the earliest deep-space assignments for Green Lantern Hal Jordan following his induction into the Green Lantern Corps. Jordan was dispatched to the planet by the Guardians of the Universe to address a threat that endangered the indigenous population.

The primitive Calorians were hunted by the planet's apex predator, the Dryg, a massive, ape-like from a region characterized by extreme geothermal activity. The Dryg's size and near-invulnerability made it impossible for the native population to combat using their own resources. Despite initial setbacks, Hal Jordan utilized his power ring to neutralize the Dryg and protect the Calorians.
