HISTORY

Since childhood, Hal Jordan wanted to be a pilot, following in the footsteps of his father, Martin Jordan. Tragically, Martin's life ended in a fiery crash.

Hal grew up and became a pilot, but he was reckless. He would have been grounded for good but for the war with Atlantis and Themyscira. Jordan, along with Ferris Aircraft had been drafted into the war effort.

While on a test run, Hal and Carol Ferris were attacked by the Shark, an agent of Atlantis. Though Hal eliminated the threat, it was at the cost of two F-22 Raptors. In his next flight, Hal had an encounter that would change his life.

An alien spacecraft was shot down, its sole occupant Green Lantern Abin Sur was pulled from the wreckage by Jordan. The event became worldwide news and Abin Sur pledged to help the victims of the flooding of Europe.

The war came to the American mainland as Ferris Aircraft and Coast City were attacked by Amazon forces. A mythological beast was released on the city which was defeated by Jordan, making him a national hero. He was selected for Operation: Nightlight, Jordan would be the pilot to drop the Green Arrow nuke on New Themysicra.

The battle was brutal as the Amazons took out many jets. New Themysicra was also defended by Giganta. In the end,with his jet's controls jammed, Jordan sacrificed his life to crash his plane into New Themysicra's forcefield and detonating the Green Arrow missile.
