HISTORY
Kerina served as a high-ranking lieutenant to Amon Sur, leader of the Black Circle Syndicate. She was as ruthless as her boss, going as far as threatening the wife and daughters of the bounty hunter Shiro Nova who had failed in eliminating Green Lantern Kyle Rayner.[1]
Naturally suspicious, Kerina did not trust "Mr. Vasquez" a mercenary looking to serve with the Syndicate. In truth, Vasquez was the Green Lantern they had sought to eliminate. He had taken the guise of Vasquez to infiltrate the Black Circle Syndicate, learn of its plans and destroy the organization from within. Rayner underestimated the reach of the Syndicate and he had been found out.[2]
Kerina and Amon Sur attacked the Green Lantern, believing their foe was weak. In what appeared to be Amon Sur's victory over Rayner, he lunged at the ring wielder with a Qwardian energy sword. Instead, Sur found he had mortally wounded Kerina who was disguised as a construct to appear as the Green Lantern.[3]
