HISTORY

Little is known about the woman named M'la. She was adept at sorcery and the love of Zalaz, the Jack-Lord of an unidentified planet comprised of occult and science. In time, M'la became gravely ill, prompting Zalaz to take desperate measures to restore her health by stealing the Starheart. This act led to conflict with the Guardians of the Universe as the freed magic was a threat to the cosmos.

Two Green Lanterns, one created of science, Hal Jordan, the other of magic, Alan Scott along with Green Arrow faced Zalaz. Seeing that the Starheart's energies were being drained battling the heroes, Zalaz tapped into the power to give life, sacrificing his life to restore M'la.

The actions of Zalaz had awakened the Green Flame of Life and it cautioned it needed to be contained. M'la chose to return it to the sun from which Zalaz had stolen it and appoint herself as its guardian.This act led to conflict with the Guardians of the Universe.

Years later, M'la met a tragic end. A malignant Force had grown sentience within the Starheart. One of its first acts was to slay the sentinel on its threshold.

M'la was adept at sorcery, demonstrating this by using magic to heal wounds Green Arrow received in his fight with Zalaz.
