HISTORY
Little has been documented regarding the origins or true nature of the Purge Engineers. While it is assumed they belong to a single species, it remains unknown whether they represent the entirety of that population or a distinct faction.

The Purge Engineers deploy massive, multi-legged metallic vehicles that resemble crustaceans. The tactical shell serves as an armored exoskeleton. A view of a destroyed unit revealed a small, delicate biological lifeform piloting the machinery from within.

Sinestro claimed to have entirely eradicated the Purge Engineers at some point in the past. However, records do not specify whether this occurred during his tenure as a Green Lantern or after he established the Sinestro Corps.
Despite claims of their destruction, a trio of Purge Engineers resurfaced on an unidentified world, where they engaged and easily overwhelmed the resident Green Lantern of Sector 1961. The confrontation ended when Sinestro intervened. He easily decimated the Purge Engineers, sparing the life of the injured Green Lantern. The surviving Purge Engineer prepared a close range counterstrike moments before Sinestro eradicated it. Unable to convince the Green Lantern to join his cause, Sinestro eliminated him as well.[1]
POWERS
The Purge Engineers are highly skilled in advanced technology. The mechanical shells are equipped with forward-mounted energy cannons. While it is presumed the heavily armored shells protect the delicate pilots from the rigors of deep space and facilitate interstellar travel, active space transit has not yet been officially observed.
