HISTORY
When Vril Dox's deranged son Lyrl Dox took control over the interplanetary police force known as L.E.G.I.O.N., Vril Dox and those among his crew that were loyal to him, broke free and formed 'the Revolutionary Elite Brigade to Eradicate L.E.G.I.O.N. Supremacy'. For several months, the R.E.B.E.L.S. opposed the L.E.G.I.O.N., until Lyrl Dox's evil leadership could be overthrown. The core members of R.E.B.E.L.S. then became L.E.G.I.O.N. once again.
When the forces of Starro invaded, control of L.E.G.I.O.N. was wrested from Vril Dox II, forcing Dox to flee. Contacted by his 31st century descendent Brainiac 5, Vril Dox II formed a new group of R.E.B.E.L.S.
