Synopsis: - Superman's powers are going out of control - he has lost his super-hearing and his powers of strength and flight are waxing and waning. Meanwhile, two police officers find some 'space junk' which makes one of them violently ill and the Futuresmiths take Cir-El to the Fortress of Solitude, where she accidentally breaks a crystalline structure which lets free a figure in a metallic suit. After an encounter with the two police officers, which convinces him the 'space junk' is Kryptonian, Superman feels even more unwell and flies to the Fortress, where he discovers Cir-El unconscious on the floor.
