This template prints a short phrase linking to the character's **previous** chronological appearance.
Syntax
- Basic (same title)
- {{last}} = last in immediately preceding issue of same title
- Specific issue (same title)
- {{last|5}} = last in specific issue of same title
- With story
- {{last|5/2}} = last in specific issue and story of same title
- With story / page
- {{last|5/2(pg3)}} = last in specific issue, story and page of same title
- With story / page / panel
- {{last|5/2(pg3pan2)}} = last in specific issue, story, page and panel of same title
- Behind the scenes
- {{last|5(bts)}} = last appearance was "behind the scenes" in specific issue of same title
- Flashback
- {{last|5(fb)}} = last in flashback in specific issue of same title
- Combinations (put ";" in between qualifiers)
- {{last|5(fb;pg3pan2)}} = last in flashback in specific issue, story, page and panel of same title
- Other title (always include “#” for numbered books)
- {{last|Superman Vol. 2 #4}} = last in specific issue of a different title
- Non-numbered title (GN/non-numbered one-shot)
- {{last|Superman: For Earth}} = last in a different non-numbered title
- Role
- {{last|5|role=Robin}} = last appearance was in a different identity/role in specific issue of same title

- All examples use Superman Vol. 2 #10 as baseline, meaning this is the result you'd get if you entered the below values in that issue.
