HISTORY
In a universe predating the current existence, the Yellow Lightsmiths of Terror wielded their portion of the Emotional Spectrum in concert with their fellow Lightsmiths. They had mastered the energies, using it to create entire civilizations with cities of light. This time would come to an end.
They did not heed the warnings of a previously respected scientist, labeling him a Relic and claiming he only wished to throwback to ancient ways before the light. Relic conjectured the light was finite in supply and came at a cost. He was correct.
"The Dimming" began on the homeworld of the Blue Lightsmiths of Faith when their power converter went dark. This event presumably cascaded, leading to the War of the Dwindling Light, where the various Lightsmiths turned on each other in battle.[1]
As the war raged on, another force entered the fray. The Light Pirates attacked Lightsmiths of any hue, capturing the Lightsmiths and draining their energy. Even a new presence in their universe became fair game, resembling the Green Lightsmiths of Resolve, the Green Lantern Corps were captured as well though the Lanterns were able to revolt, freeing themselves and the Lightsmith captives. This alliance was only temporary.[2]
The Lightsmiths regrouped and turned on the Lanterns, attempting to claim the living planet and Green Lantern Mogo. The Yellow Lightsmiths of Terror battled fiercely, creating constructs which projected their opponents fear but they and the other Lightsmiths were repelled by the Lanterns.[3]
The Yellow Lightsmiths of Terror were ultimately eradicated as they and their fellow Lightsmiths battled each other to the last. Their universe was no more, with Relic sole survivor of their reality.[4]
POWERS
The Yellow Lightsmiths of Terror access their powers by use of a glowing yellow-tipped stave. They are able to create light constructs from the energy.
