HISTORY

Belgor is a planet far from Earth. Apparently far from its triple sun system, Belgor's days were lit by the red crystalline light of the element helion while its Belgor's nights were illuminated by an artificial satellite to give a simulation of moonlight. Belgor was rich with other unique elements and had developed an advanced super-science but despite all these benefits it could also be a harsh world. Known as an aggressor planet, the ruling dictatorship, the Guardians of Belgor, frequently pitted their fellow Belgorians against champions from other worlds. To refuse to battle meant the public execution of the Belgorian's family. Failure meant the defeated party would be dropped into the Crystal Urn of Death in the Arena of Sacrifice by the conqueror or the family member(s) would be killed. Should the other world's champion be defeated, his or her planet's population would be destroyed.

The Belgorian Ron-Avon was sent to Earth to do battle with Superboy. As per the rules of their duel, Superboy was forced into combat or he would by default sacrifice Earth. He was allowed to select two of Earth's elements for the first two fights while the final two fights would be on Belgor with elements of that world.
