Synopsis: - The original Mist reveals that he was behind everything all along and holds Opal to ransom: in five minutes he will die, triggering a massive explosion that will kill everyone in Opal, includinh his daighter and the son she conceived with Jack Knight.
- The O'Dares have a shootout in which Barry is killed and Matt seriously injured.
- The Mist kills his daughter, leaving Jack with their child, and Ted Knight arrives on the scene with a greatly improved, massively powerful version of the gravity rod which he has been working on. He uses this to take the Mist and the building he has packed with explosives far out of harm's reach, so that when the Mist dies and the bombs explode, Opal is saved, but Ted Knight is killed in his final act as a hero.
