HISTORY

The Varrgels are a sentient species native to the planet Tharnn in Sector 3009. Physically, Varrgels are small, round, and covered in thick fur of various colors with large, expressive eyes and small ears. Oddly, they feature massive, oversized, three-toed bird-like feet.

As a society, the Varrgels are considered primitive and peaceful. An annual festival and harvest is held in the summer, which also coincided with Khund hunting parties. The sentience of the Varrgels mattered little to the Khund as they would hunt and eat the Varrgels.

The intervention of Dex-Starr led to a massive change to Varrgel society. The Red Lantern showed one of their number, Shaa they needed to fight back if they wished to survive as the Varrgels turned on the surprised Khund.
